The
following is a general description of how ROCKAMERICA promotions
progress from start to finish.
The purpose of these events is to generate more interest in the
group/artist being promoted by creating local events that demonstrate
local interest.
ROCKAMERICA will secure venues with video for the promotion in as
many markets and venues you require within each market.
ROCKAMERICA has access to many different types of venues-nightclubs,
all age clubs, restaurants, retail clothing stores, sporting goods
stores, record stores, etc. Let us know which types are of use to
you.
ROCKAMERICA will obtain venues with the appropriate music format
in each market. Let us know the format you wish to work with and
any particular venues you want to target. We will recommend the
venues that are most effective in their market.
These promotions focus on visual product. For the video component
of the promotion ROCKAMERICA can edit a video compilation in any
and all formats to your specifications. You may already have a completed
video product. In this case ROCKAMERICA can take of all duplication
in the venue specific formats.
In addition to the video product that the promotion centers around,
the venues get merchandise to use in giveaways and contests. We
will suggest the appropriate number of items per venue. You provide
a combination of merchandise for the clubs to give out, as arranged
by us, or you can choose a more structured approach, such as devising
a contest that ties in with the theme of the promotion.
ROCKAMERICA can help cross-promote the event with local media: Often
each venue will have a station with which they work regularly. We
encourage local and regional record company reps to get involved
in this respect.
It follows that all national and local reps are informed as to the
details of the promotion.
ROCKAMERICA will coordinate all national advertising, including
artwork and placement. it is important for us to receive all elements
well in advance to have plenty of time to get your approval before
the ad runs. ROCKAMERICA will also send press releases to relevant
publications.
We have found that through proper promotion, many more people will
be aware of the promotion than are actually able to attend. Therefore,
in order to maximize print advertising by the venues, it is important
that you provide 8.5" x 11" ad slicks consisting of multimedia
size ads and ad elements including logos and photos, and ads for
local newspapers and magazines.
You may also want to supply generic radio spots for the event with
space (a bed) for a local tag. This will also be an incentive for
the venues to buy more air time.
ROCKAMERICA will coordinate shipment of materials to arrive within
two days of the event.
In order to maximize the venues' enthusiastic participation in the
promotion, we recommend an incentive. We have found that the most
effective way of generating more press and promotion is to offer
a prize to the best promoted event. This could be from catalogue
materials to trips abroad(we once gave away a new car!)
At the conclusion of the promotion ROCKAMERICA will compile a thorough
feedback report on it's progress including attendance figures, audience
response, lists of all advertising (and copies of advertising and
radio spots where possible), and descriptions of each event.
The cost of these promotions vary according to the amount of venues
chosen and the quantity of product distributed to each venue. The
costs usually range from $395. to $950 per venue.
